KIRTON family, Whitburn, Co. Durham

I am looking for information on the baptisms for Hugh Kirton and Agnees Rippon.  They were married in 1707 in St. Mary's Church, Whitburn.

There are records of several Rippons baptised in Whitburn around the right time but none of them Agnes unfortunately - the nearest is Ann b 1685 to Margaret.  Other children to the same mother are Robert (1688) and William (1691).

I do think the Northumberland Kirton family is related to the Whitburn family but to date have not been able to find the connection.
