He is a Lance Corporal in the Liverpool Regiment (aka Kings). He also has a wound stripe.

found a 2nd cousin who has a British War Medal for: "5805 Pte Morris C. E. L'Pool R" and based on a c.1950 picture, and the fact that he would have been a great uncle by marriage to the cousin, this is definitely he.

Hi Paul,
I'm glad you could find the Service Papers for C. E. Morris, I see it now on Ancestry along with Medal Roll and Medal Index.

I'd had the photo for 2 years or so but it was only when I tracked down a relation, saw the medal and saw 'L'POOL R' that I started to put this together with the previous posts that suggested Kings, especially Liverpool Kings that I started to put 2 and 2 together.

Have you got a source I can quote for this please - I assume its the war diary?
Thanks again for the information.

60 St Georges Hill Everton 1911?
« Reply #7 on: Friday 24 July 15 17:35 BST (UK) »
Sarah,
The photo looks very different in colour.
Thanks

As Paul has said, Charlis Edward Morris gave his address as  60 St Georges Hill Everton in 1915. His family lived in North Wales near Oswestry so I wondered if anyone was able to find who was living at 60 St Georges Hill Everton in 1911?
