Byrne
« on: Wednesday 19 September 12 14:30 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for marraige of James Byrne who was married to Ellen, they had a daughter Imelda born 1928 and last address for James was Bagnalstown but not sure of what registration district that would come under.

Thanks

With a common surname like Byrne I think you are going to need a bit more detail e.g. Ellen's maiden name, to search for a possible marriage - have you tried searching for a birth cert for Imelda ?

Bagnalstown was in Carlow (town) registration district.

I know its the proverbial needle in haystack with the name.

Imelda was born in 1928 but that may be a year out.

I'm not seeing a likely birth for her, was she born in Bagnalstown ?

see : Imelda Byrne births 1926-1930

Did she have any other names ? just wondering if Imelda was a middle name she used later in life...

if she was registered before a name was decided, i.e. as just 'female', her birth is going to be impossible to find among all the Byrnes..

Hi Shane

Thanks

Will get her marraige certificate and try track back from there, she married in Dublin so its equally possible the family moved to Dublin before she was born. I just received info that her father was from Bagnalstown but knew it would be needle in haystack as name is all over the country.

Probably nothing to do with your Byrnes, but I have just found out my Great Grandmother was from Carlow, her name before marriage was Kate Byrne she married Francis Slattery,if you come across any f these names please let me know. :) thank you
