trip to UK ROBERTS JONES

Hi everyone

i am back to family history as i am going to do my first and last trip from NZ to the UK in August

so while there want to make the most of my time

Wales family as above

Rees ROBERTS m Mary JONES
Ann Ellen 1874 .Richard. Margaret  and Evan ROBERTS  the children

Rees was a stonemason.. b c 1854   m mary 1873 think in conway

places on censes records are
llanystumdwy  caernarvonshire

her majestry prison  llanbebliq  caernarvon 1881   is this prison still standing

dwygyfylohi  caernarvon    1891

plan to spend a day in this part of Wales is there anything i shouldnt miss seeing 

thanks so much   very excited    we will have a car to get around

Hi Ann,
Just read your message and I can tell you that the prison in Llanbeblig does not remain there anymore. My mother is also born Roberts and is buried in Llanbeblig .
You might want to visit the castle , it's where Prince Charles was crowned  . Lots of other places Conway also has a castle and other nice places to visit . Have a lovely trip . If I can help you with anything , don't hesitate to message me . By the way lots of welsh speakers too.

i have only heard Welsh language on the net..  and Blimey how do they pronounce the names, goodness, had my friend from uk in fits of laughter when i was trying to say the names lol

think Rees parents and children moved around a lot , coming from Cornwell area

PS wondered why i couldnt find the prison on the net, thank you for that

I was born and raised in caernarfon.
 I also speak welsh Ann, pretty easy when you know how .  I have just been into my tree on my mother's side and I have an Evan Roberts born in 1814 , maybe we are related somehow lol . I am a member of Ancestry.co.uk so if you need any one looking up , I can do it for you . Where in NZ are you ?

Yes i just taken out Ancestry for a month to update my tree, 

found Evan  on the 1911 census records  his address is

2 Babell   Penmaenmawr   cant find that address in google

i am in Rotorua ,   my parents are from B/Ham so doing the big trip,  came to NZ in the 50's

I lived just outside of Birmingham from 1992 - 2009  in a place called Smethwick . . I am now in Nevada , USA . I will see if I can get you that address, then maybe in August you could visit and think of your Evan who lived there.
