How to find an obituary

Hi

Im looking for an obituary of a cousin of mine in New Zealand. Papers Past only covers up to 1945 and the last record we have of him is his divorce in 1961.

Is there another central repository of obituaries or somewhere I can look to find out what happened to him?

Hes not on the NZ BDM site that I could find.

This person was born in 1915 so I think meets the posting guidelines but Ill leave his name out of the post until Spades has commented..

You should probably wait another year, but without giving us a name, can you provide any more information first?

Where did the divorce take place (or which Court handled it), what was his residence at the time, occupation, etc.

My thinking is that if you can place him in an area we could check electoral rolls and then local newspapers for that region.

And have you checked Archway for a probate or Coroner's Report?

Born in Wellington then it looks like he was re registered in 1917
Living in Auckland from 1938 to 1954. 1954 occupation listed as a dealer. Prior to that he was a saleman living with his adoptive mother.
I think he was in the airforce in WWII.
Divorced in 1961 - file is in Auckland archives with restricted access.

There are some mispellings of his name so his record might extend to 1981 in Wellington and occupation is retired. No one living with him then.
