I don't know the area either, but Stranbane is one of Donegal's Reg Districts

So an Ellen dies aged under 1 in 1901, and another Ellen is born around 1904

They did a similar thing with Patrick when he died, their next boy was named Joseph Patrick, looks like a mystery solved

The RootsIreland results are in the Civil Parish of Raphoe.
Raphoe is in the Poor Law Union of Strabane so that matches.

It's possible the second Ellen has another name, one before Ellen, like Patrick Joseph, who is listed as Joseph Patrick in the Census. Which will make her birth more difficult to find.
