well since you won't say who you're looking for there's not much one can do to help!
Give a man a record and you feed him for a day.
Teach a man to research, and you feed him for a lifetime.

I know this query is sorted but I wondered if anyone knows if it's possible to contact the genealogy centres and buy a single or a few records from them, and how much they would charge?

You can apply via GRO Ireland, they charge 4 or 5 Euros for a research copy.

Yes, but it's genealogy centre practices I was asking about ie if you only want one record and paying the sub isn't economic, as in your case, will the genealogy centre sell a single record.

No I don’t think they will. They used to, but they now have a different charging regime. As has been said earlier, if you want a single statutory record, you are better off getting a photocopy from GRO Roscommon for €4 or, in the case of records in Northern Ireland, from GRONI where you can view them for £2 each. That’s probably cheaper than the genealogy centres old fees anyway.
