Can anyone please enlighten me as to the exact location of Benson's eating establishment in Dumfries during the 1820s and 30s?

Hi ,

Do you mean the town of Dumfries or the County ?

There are possible references to Benson's who were Innkeepers around that time , but they were in Annan.  :-\

Hi ev,
I refer to the town of Dumfries. However, it may have been an inn as there is a reference to someone having had breakfast there. Good point and thanks.
