WYMER - Isaac - (of) Pukekohe - farmer - 1933

Lu

The Wymer family are still in Pukekohe ... depending which Isaac they descend from.   They are known in the area.

Cheers
KHP :)

I think it must be my man .I am not up on the geography of NZ ,  Is Otahuhu  where they would of settled and would it be near to where they landed  when they  arrived ?

Hi Magic

No probs with the questions ... ask anything you wish.   :)
Hopefully our BDM site will be up and working again shortly and we can add to / confirm, some of the info given so far.

The ship "FAMENOTH" (rather than "Famenorth"), arrived in Auckland NZ on 15 January 1883 (having departed UK on 25 September 1882).

I can't though, find a published passenger list ... and there's only brief mention of the arrival in newspapers.

Yes, the places "Otahuhu" and "Pukekohe" are in the Auckland region.

KHP may be able to help with some "history" for Pukehohe ??  ;)

Mare may be able to help with the Otahuhu Cemetery  :) if you would like me to see if there is a headstone to photograph. The name is also familiar to me from South Auckland  :) mare

There are quite a few Wymer brothers.

They went into the farming and cropping sector.    One I think became a NZ Champion.

I can PM the addresses to Magic, if they want to snail mail.

Cheers

Hi Magic

BDM is thankfully now back in business.   :)

So, to confirm the following deaths :

1933 - WYMER - Isaac - 74 years  (born c. 1859)

1953 - WYMER - Isaac George - 72 years (born c. 1881)

1916 - WYMER - Elizabeth Ann - 58 years (born c. 1858)

Looks like the Isaac you are seeking  ?   :)

And "Isaac George WYMER" very likely the child born Norfolk 1880 ?

You can view the NZ BDM indexes here  > >

Great stuff ... KHP and Mare.    :)

I'm thinking that maybe Isaac WYMER (snr.) d. 1933, is buried in the Pukehohe area ?    (Wife's burial 1916 at Otahuhu ... but he doesn't appear to be with her ?)

Hi Magic

Wow !    There looks to be a number of children born in New Zealand to Isaac and Elizabeth Ann.   ;)

I'll need to take a closer look at these entries ... there is some confusion with Isaac George ... who also married and "Elizabeth".

Hi again Magic

I think perhaps that Isaac WYMER (b. 1859), had another marriage following the death of Elizabeth Ann in 1916.   ???

NZ Marriage

Isaac WYMER - Margaret Isabel TYRRELL - 1917

Margaret Isabel WYMER died in 1967 aged 89 years (bc 1878).

A probate file is held at Archives NZ (Auckland) for  > >

WYMER - Margaret Isabel - widow - Buckland ex Pukekohe - 1968

(* Pukehohe was also the address shown on probate file for Isaac WYMER d. 1933) :

[Have only found deaths in NZ for two persons named Isaac WYMER - those named previously].

Lu

Edit :  Amended to show marriage was in New Zealand !
