Job and Priscilla Harding of Walsall
« on: Tuesday 16 September 14 15:37 BST (UK) »
Hi,
I am trying to trace my fathers family. My father, who was from Bloxwich, was Francis Johnson, his mother and father were George and Florence F Johnson. My grandmother was a Harding and her father was Valentine Francis Harding (DOB 1876), his father was Job Harding (DOB 1833) who, I think, was not from England as the census he is included in have his district as Walsall/Foreign and I can only find him from age 8 yrs, but I am stuck here. Any help from anyone would be greatly appreciated.

Hi and welcome to Rootschat.

Who does he name as his father when he marries Priscilla?
Where/when does he say he was born on censises after his marriage?

Depending on the answer to both of those questions, might this be him in 1851? Not Walsall though

Can Lane, Sedgely, Staffs
Job Harding 50 Ironstone miner, bn Somerset
Ann 47 bn Sedgely
Job 19 son iron bolt something bn Sedgely
Jospeh Waterhouse 20 son in law
Thomas Waterhouse age unclear son in law

Looks like a second marriage -son in law meaning step son

Same family as has been found in 1841
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex

Thank you all for your help this is extremely helpful to me, anything else you can tell me will be great as I'm relatively new to this :-).
I think the Sedgely connexion could be right
