James Urquhart Anderson died in 1874 and appeared to be living in Kirkwall on the 1871 census so is probably buried in the St Magnus Cathedral cemetery possibly with the rest of the family, the memorial inscriptions in there are not listed yet but can be obtained from the Orkney Family History Society

I visited the ofhs office today for something else and asked about the Anderson family, they are buried in St Magnus Cathedral cemetery, they were kind enough to give me a photo of the headstone which reads: the burial ground of james u anderson. in memory of janet king died 8 april 1861 aged 59 yrs and of her husband james urquhart anderson who first introduced  the newspaper press into orkney died at kirkwall 10 oct 1874 aged 75 yrs and of james anderson second son of the above who died 25th april 1912 aged 77 yrs also of elizabeth wilson his wife who died 15 august 1891 aged 56 yrs

if you would like a copy of the photo just send me a personal message with your e-mail address
