Has Alfred Rickman any connection to Ireland?

Well if this is true, then it explains a lot.

According to this thread Alfred Rickman's mother grandmother born in Ireland looks to be the Irish connection rather than the Rickman family-

Alfred RICKMAN
Born: 13th November 1887/1888
Died: 1977
Wife: Bella RICKMAN
Daughter: Mary RICKMAN
Served in Royal Navy for a period of time, then migrated to the United States est. 1904 or a bit later

It is unclear how he immigrated and why there was little contact with his family. He did live on Stanley Road which is now called Michael Road in Fulham? I was told his family was large but unfortunately lost touch. Unclear why. Alfred resided with Bella in New York City and eventually moved up to the Bronx as his daughter Mary (my grandmothrer) owned a home there. He was a man of excellent character and kind to all. A true English gent. He passed a few months before I was born in 77.

Any information you can provide is appreciated.

I can also post a photograph of him if it would help?

This really has nothing to do with this Rickman, Ireland thread. If you wish to follow up more information on Alfred Rickman in England then post to earlier English thread (see link above). Or, if you want to trae Alfred in American then start a new topic on U.S.A. board.

I am a descendant of the Collins family of whom Mary Kate married Henry Rickman.  I have considerable documentation on this family and happy to help.  Note that the famous actor Alan Rickman is a grandson of Mary and Henry through their son Bernard.

Cheers!

To be clear, my information is on Henry Rickman and Mary Kate Collins, who married in Waterford and subsequently moved to Fulham, West London. It is they whom Alan Rickman descends from.

Mary Kate's father Denis was indeed a retired Army pensioner who served in various places in the 1800s such as Madagascar and the Crimea, and received a number of medals.  I am in possession of his military records.  His marriage to Mary Quinlan was his second marriage, and he had a series of other children in Scotland prior to marrying Mary who was over 30 years his junior at the time of the marriage.  I have numerous official records of both the Irish and the Scottish Collins families and of Denis, and also a number of family stories that have been handed down, which I am very happy to share.

I have no information on Alfred Rickman, sorry.

Thanks!
