William Joseph Hatten
« on: Saturday 20 December 14 15:38 GMT (UK) »
Can anyone help me find my uncle William Joseph Hatten born 4 September 1896 Shepherds Bush, London.  He emigrated to Canada in 1911 - Liverpool to Quebec.  He had a massive row with his father and then contact was lost.  I have tried looking at Canadian records on Ancestry but cannot find him at all except for some military record for WW1.  I don't know if he married had children or when he died. Many thanks

He is in several (fairly dubious) trees on ancestry - have you checked them all out?

Added:
His attestation record is for 4th September 1894 - which birth date is correct?  Gives grandmother in London as next of kin.

Added:
Births December quarter 1896
William Joseph J Hatten    Fulham    1a   192
So why the error in age?

Just pointing out there is also this one:
Births June quarter 1896
William Joseph R Hatton    Wirral    8a   492

Looks like he could have left England on 1st June 1911 with his father,  onboard the Tunisian.

Entered as Wm J  and Wm W HATTON, both labourers, no ages given.

If he had a massive row with his family, surely he would not have left the country with his Father, or, at least, that would also have been part of family history?

mommeybear,

What further information have you on his father?

Thank-you

Added:
Did his Mother return to her birthplace and die?
Deaths June quarter 1909   Martha Hatten    41    Bradfield

If so, emigration of Father and son likely, so my apologies to claire.t

Hi

William James Hatten's father was Joseph Hatten (taken from his marriage record to Martha Kent on Anc*).

Joseph married Mary Ann Hall in the Kensington district 1869.

In America William James Hatten remarried in 1919 in Toronto, York, Ontario to Wilhelmina Wilson. Both his parents are listed ~ Joseph Hatton and Mary Hall.

Apology accepted chempat  :) :)

It's not helping us finding William Joseph though  ???

mommeybear,

I read your original posting to mean that he had the row, which caused him to emigrate, and lost contact.

But presumably they both emigrated (leaving his brother behind) and then had the row and lost contact?

So he could have moved on from Canada to anywhere else in the world?

Did he ever contact his twin brother?
