On the Family Search site I located William Attwell buried 12 Sept 1844 age 39, Birth 1805.
This is the person I am looking for as the death tallies with all other records, however to date I have not been able to locate his parents. Does anyone have access to church records in the Dudley or Tipton areas that might be able to help me locate his parents. There is a possibility his mother or his sister's name is Ann as she signs with a cross on the wedding certificate for William and Maria Richards on 6 October 1823. The record is in the Parish of Dudley in county Worcester. Neither William or Maria could sign their names.

I do not know Maria's birth date but suggest 1806 and I do not know her parents.

I have all the other family details from the time William and Maria were married.

I just checked that I'd given you the correct site address only to find that it's been moved but you can still get the records by clicking on the link you are given then explore the site & you will see that Dudley St Thomas is still there - don't bother clicking on Dudley Archives as it's not that - click on Worcestershire &  work round it that way
