Hi,

FreeBMD gives his birth registration:

John Lavelle   MarQ 1919   Kidderminster  6c  116   (maiden name Rook)

Using those surnames FreeBMD gives this possible marriage registration:

Thomas Lavelle   DecQ  1906   Kidderminster  6c   375   (possible bride:    Lily May Rook)

A copy of John's birth certificate will confirm the names of his parents.

A copy of his marriage certificate should show the name of Ann's father.

Hi Jane

I should be going on holiday for a few weeks in AUG/SEP to stay in WOR & when there go to Worcester once a week to do some research - so when there I will have a look at the Kiddy registers for you to see if I can find the marriage & if time allows I will have a look for the brides parents as well

All the very best

Think nothing of it as it means I can keep my hand in (or at least try to  :))

by the way I used to live at Kidderminster but had nothing to do with the carpet industry - I was an old fashioned grocer who used to stand behind a counter waiting to serve people - those days have long gone I fear

Hi Again

Sorry but I have to make you wait till DEC/JAN for me to do that look up as the cousins that I stay with have sold their bungalow & are about to move out of it but dont yet have a date to move into their new house & it may be as late as SEP/OCT so I may not get up their till my Christmas holiday & Im gutted as it means I wont be able to work for the BMSGH at the West Midland Family History Fair this year (I could cry)
