Dennis Hassan! A brickwall! Please help!

Hi,

my greatgranduncle was Dennis Hassan (or Hasson!)
He was born on 26 Jun 1865 in the townland of Coolnamonan, Banagher Parish in Co. Derry.
His parents were Patrick Hassan c.1830-1907 and Rose Fleming 1835-1909.
We believe that Dennis was an Auctioneer
He married Marjery O'Doherty on the 15/9/1891 in Banagher. They were both living in Eden townland at the time and Marjery was a teacher at the nearby school called Moneyhaughan.
Sadly Marjery died shortly afterwards and Dennis left. The family story is that he went to Scotland and died in a workhouse but I can't find any evidence of this!

You have the same posting under Scotland which will cause confusion and more work for people trying to help. What is it you are hoping to find about him in Co. Londonderry?

I just thought that perhaps people on the derry board may be able to help me in my search because I do not know for certain if Dennis actually left for Scotland!
