Coyle family of Roo and relation to McCaffrey family
« on: Thursday 21 November 13 16:58 GMT (UK) »
I am looking for any information about either the COYLE family of Roo, Aghnamullen or the McCAFFREY family of the same location. I believe all members of both families in Roo are now dead, all buried in the Carrickatee cemetery (the McCaffreys have a headstone there; the Coyles have not, but I believe one of the two unmarked grave sites in this cemetery is theirs). Specifically, I would love to know exactly how the two families were connected. I believe the last of the McCaffrey, Margaret, died in 1999; all the Coyle family were dead long before.

A Catherine Coyle and family there in 1911- but I can't see McCaffertys there:

Same family in 1901- but again I can't see any McCaffertys:

Have you checked to see if there are any records for the graveyard or any church records which would identofy both families?
Away sorting out DNA matches... I may be gone for some time many years!

I know my McCaffrey line has ties to Monaghan through GG Grand Aunt Sarah b. 1830 . Aughnamullen is one of  parishes that both McCaffrey and McNally ( mom's maiden)can be found around the time of her birth. Sarah and confirmed younger sisters Anna and Elizabeth immigrated to NYC around 1849. I believe there are more siblings with the names of Mary, Philip, Thomas and Hugh. Did any of your McCaffrey family immigrate ? Got any other surnames accociated
