When searching for Forde always try, where possible,to use a wildcard search (like Ford*) to include records where the surname is recorded as Ford rather than Forde.

There are links mentioned at the top of the MONAGHAN board for local resources, and under IRELAND GENERAL BOARD and IRELAND RESOURCES for many other links. Also, read through these 2 topics to get a better idea of sources available and researching Irish records-

Thanks.  It looks like it would require a personal visit to the PRONI to get anywhere beyond the census records, and that's a bit too far away!
