Pinnock family
« on: Thursday 26 June 14 21:47 BST (UK) »
Hi
Could I ask for some help with Herts research (again!) please?

I'm trying to trace the Pinnock family which included Hankin Pinnock (not a name I've ever come across before, but Google tells me it's a form of John) b 1708, the son of William & Ann Pinnock.
Hankin married Mary Castle & their son was William who maried Elizabeth Kent.

This info is all from other researchers as I cannot get to Herts. RO.  I would be grateful for confirmation/correction from any Rootschatter(s) who knows anything about this family

Many thanks
Maggott

Hi
Familysearch and Ancestry have select English baptisms
Hankin Pinnock bapt  8.11.1708 at Walkern to William and Ann
and the marriage you mentioned 1.10.1734 at Layston ,Hertfordhsire
Christenings for his and Mary's children  Thomas at Walkern 2.11.1746,Mary 7.6.1741 and William 14.3.1735.
The name does seem to be local to the area.

Thank you Ciderdrinker-

Seems that my informants have got it right & it's good to establish where the action was.  This makes total sense as later generations were all in that part of Herts

Best
