William FERRIES
« on: Thursday 03 April 14 22:17 BST (UK) »
Hi

I am looking for info on the above.  He was born Nov 1856 in Greenock, Renfrewshire Scotland.  He appears in the 1861 Census with his parents John & Mary, they were living at 1, Buccleugh Street, Greenock West, Renfrewshire, Scotland.  I cant find him again until April 1881 when he married Margaret George in Aberavon, Port Talbot Wales, he remained in Wales until his death in 1948.  The marriage record stated he was a Sailor.

I am trying to find out what happened to him between 1861 and 1881

Any help solving this will be much appreciated

Susie  :)

If he was a sailor - he could have been at sea on census night

Hi

Yes that's him, father listed as William Ferries, mother Mary McLlachan.  On his wedding record it gives the same mother but father listed as John Ferries, the 1861 also has his father as John.  I think his father must have been William John.

Thanks

Susie
