Unfortunately, the same applies to the will of Moses Maddock(sic),1742, and Moses Maddock(sic),1816.

Hi,

John Peters' Will abstract:
https://familysearch.org/pal:/MM9.3.1/TH-1961-28760-17824-0?cc=1876640&wc=M6KJ-2WG:174219001,174231301

I wonder if they mistranscribed the date of the Will!!  Probate is 1776, but date of Will is 1670!!  Possible (if this particular John died in 1670 and nobody had a reason to Probate the Will until 1776).  Date of inventory is 1773.  Interesting :)

Looks like his wife was Anne when he died.

This Thomas Sybdale of Moor died in 1718 and has a daughter Alice, but no mention of a son John (and we know your Alice has a brother John).  So this might not be her.  Also, is the same year that your Alice married for the first time.  But, this record still might be worth following up ???

Moses Maddox 1816  -- same record set as above, but go to IMG 223 and 224

That's very interesting...... Moses was buried 12 July 1742.  The Codicil......which I always thought was an attachment or change to a will made (in this case, by Moses) before the person's death....... is dated 12 August 1742.  The probate/grant is dated 11 January 1742-43.  Moses' wife is given as Alice Peters but, she didn't marry John Peters until 24 September 1743!

This deed,I think, possibly suggests that Alice's parents were John and Mary(unless her father married more than once?),given the land involved being the same as the 1766 deed. There is a burial record for Maria Sievedale(sic)"of Moore" in 1712,but they may not be the same person.

Hawarden Deeds/ 780.

Title
Grant from John Sivedale of Moore in the parish of Hawarden, co. Flint, yeoman, (in consideration of a marriage, lately ..., 1706, Nov. 21.

Summary
Grant from John Sivedale of Moore in the parish of Hawarden, co. Flint, yeoman, (in consideration of a marriage, lately solemnized, between him and his wife, Mary, and of her portion of £30,) to John Weigh of Moore aforesaid, of a cottage and a parcel of land called Crowfootheadland in Moore aforesaid, on trust for the said John Sivedale for his life, with remainder to his wife, Mary, for her life, with remainder to their first and other sons successively in tail, with remainders over. Witnesses: Richard Wilson; Tho. Hallmarke; John Lovall; Tho. Heatley.

After many years searching, I think I have found Moses Maddocks' baptism!

The transcriptions of all the major sites have a Moses Wheelwright baptised in Northrop, 2nd Feb 1701.  His father is given as Joannis Maddocks and mother Sara.  They were from Soughton.

Looking at the actual register image, the line reads:

"Soughton, Moses fil Joannis Maddocks Wheelwright et Sara Baptised February 2nd 1701."

Looking at the page as a whole, the fathers' occupations follows their name, so It looks to me as though this is my Moses Maddocks.  What do you guys think?
