Thanks Ken - that has sorted that part of the puzzle, just the son to sort out now. What a pity that his WW1 record doesn't seem to have survived as that might have confirmed his marriage and son.

Hi groom, i have John William McIntosh's wedding certificate ;)
he and Milly were married 17th Feb 1912, St Mary's chapel, Stockton.
His father William McIntosh. Occupation Ironshingler @ iron works.
And one of the witness's was my maternal grandmother Norah McIntosh,
she is also named as next of kin on his militia papers.
The address 25 Ann st

No problem with any of this ;)

Just wish thier son had been as easy.

Hi Derek - I realise that you have his marriage certificate, it's just that if we could find his army records from 1914 that would probably have given us information about his wife, son and his address in 1914.

i'm  sure had they survived some kind soul would have sent them long ago.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed an answer of sorts might come from
picturestockton.

can some one please help me,
i was kindly sent the site to look up soldier's wills from 1914-18,
i tried and tried on site but nothing comes up for my relative,
i contacted the site as advised to ask if all the " files " were up to date,
answer came back yes!!
but i still cant get my relative's will to view, could some one try and inform
me of it contents, i can send my e-mail by pm.

The will for:
John William McIntosh.
Pte. 8946  2nd batt.
KIA 21st September 1914.

Wife Milly Emily McIntosh.

Hello again.

I can't see it either. It may be that he didn't leave a will, not everyone did. It could be that he didn't have much to leave and knew that as he was married everything would go to his wife anyway.

i was hoping to find Milly & son in same address 19, Mitre st, Stockton,
not sure it would have helped but it would have been nice to have the lads will.
