Owens from Radnorshire
« on: Thursday 07 February 13 19:49 GMT (UK) »
Hi, I'm new to this website, but really have to ask for some help. I'm researching William Owens [gg grandfather] b.Sept. 1859, apparently in Newbridge on Wye, his father Thomas Owens [1883 marr. cert. Tredegar, both colliers] Trouble is William not visible before this 1883 marriage to Sarah Ann LLoyd. I have him in 1891-1911 census, which is when I discovered I had been following the wrong ones for 5 years. There is no W.O. born in Rads.[registry office people double-checked for me, lovely lady] and only 6 in Britain in correct Q and year. There is apparently a connection to Abbeycwmhir. I have 'walked' the streets of Tredegar in the 1881 census, looking at all houses/names in Georgetown to no avail.Obviously can't pin a Thomas Owens down, but more candidates than his son. Any help appreciated, thanks. 8)
