COLDRON / WAGSTAFF
« on: Sunday 26 March 06 21:32 BST (UK) »
According to the 1881 census:

John Wagstaff abt 1809  Rotherham, Yorkshire, England Head  age72
Sarah Wagstaff abt 1819  Saxilby, Lincoln, England Wife  age62
Lucy Coldron abt 1860  Lincoln, Lincoln, England Daughter in Law  age21
Louisa Coldron abt 1880  Lincoln, Lincoln, England Daughter  age1
George Wagstaff abt 1858  Lincoln, Lincoln, England Son age23

If Lucy's sister / brother married a WAGSTAFF then would Lucy be recorded as Daughter in Law on the census?

Any idea where her husband is?

I do have a Lucy Rebecca WAGSTAFF marrying a George COLDRON in 1879 - is it possible that she's actually the daughter of John WAGSTAFF and that the census is mis-transribed, or just plain wrong?

1891 RG12/2595/60/71

It looks like Lucy is a widow I wondered at first if it was her but she has a daughter Louisa aged 11!

Lucy R Coldron  Head  W  30  Laundress                Lincoln, St Martins
Charles E Coldron Lodger M 39 General Labourer       do        do
Sarah          do        do       M   36                                    do        do
George Pearson      do     S     34  Labourer                   do       do
Louisa Coldron       dau           11
Lucetta    do            dau          10
George W  do          son           8
Charles E    do         son           7
Richard        do         son           6
Jane            do          dau           5

All children born Lincoln, St Martins.
Looks like hubby died after Jane was born so that gives you a rough date cos she seemed to be churning them out yearly!!

I haven't found the Wagstaff family on the 1871 or 1851 yet but still looking. I will check the 1901 census for Lucy first
