Mathew Winterman Bavaria
« on: Monday 23 February 09 17:47 GMT (UK) »
My GGGrandfather was Mathew Winterman a Cabinet maker .. First found him as a boarder on 1871 census at Kingston on Hull aged 25 yrs . Then found his marriage
Next on 1881 census married to Sarah Jane Storey and living at 3 Upper Marylebone St London .
Then again 1901 census at Camberwell London . All this time he was a German Subject and a Cabinet Maker .
Now i guess he came to Great britain between 1862 and 1871 on his own ,if he was a cabinet maker did he serve an apprentiship?. But i have no idea how or if i can find anything else about him prior to 1871 .. Any ideas ?
                                            Thanks Roy
