Can you help Me? Alfred H Phillips b. abt 1893 in Brentford Middlesex

I was told that he was known as Hubert ... he was married to Grace Matilda Brook ... they married in 1924 in Brentford ... I know nothing of his parents ... can anyone please help me ? Thank you I am doing this search for their son who is still living aged 85 i'd love to be able to tell him about them.

There's a death in 1956, Ealing, of Alfred H Phillips, aged 63 (so born c1893)?

But probate shows him to be Alfred Henry Phillips.
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

At the risk of stating the obvious - have you looked at their marriage cert to see who Alfred names as his father?  And are you sure that he was born in Brentford?  For example, there is an Alfred Hubert Phillips who was born in Ross on Wye, Herefordshire in 1892.  What do you know for definite about Alfred?

But the one below that on the probate records is Alfred Hubert Phillips  ;)

I ONLY know is what their son is telling me ... and he says his dad was born in Brentford ... and their Even at his great age he  is still an avid Brentford FC fan and attends matches .. but he is a bit doo lally. Not being disrespectful

And he's Alfred Hubert Phillips on electoral registers - living at 43 Lawrence Road, Ealing, same road as Grace's parents.

On these Grace's middle name is often spelled Mathilda

Alfred Hubert Phillips died 15 Feb 1956, 43 Lawrence Road, South Ealing. Grace Matilda Phillips - widow.

Ok, according to freebmd, the only Alfred Phillips registered in Brentford between 1891 and 1895 was an Alfred Rowland Phillips.

If your friend has his father's marriage cert it would really help because otherwise we will be looking to find 'best fit' which may not be correct (for example, if someone was born in one place but moved to another at a young age, they may not know/remember or think it important to mention)

I think that this might be your man on the 1901 census (ref no: RG13; Piece: 1194; Folio: 29; Page: 49)

He was born in Ross, but are living in Ealing.
