I have a couple of Marriage certificates (sisters) who both listed their father as deceased.

He was not, but he had remarried very quickly following the death of his first wife, had a child within 9 months!  The girl he married had been a neighbour and was the same age as some of the older children.

Think they were not impressed! ;)

What names were given to the children of Charles Capper and Mary? You may be able to work out the identity of his parents from the names they gave their children.

Which is your Charles in the census?

Jo.

That's the right man in the census'! He was only the father of hannah, john was Mary's son she had out of wedlock.
I'll have to check the residence at time of marriage and get back to you
