William Percy Nicholls

Hi, I'm looking for help with this Ancestor of mine! He was born in 1882 in Walthamstow and is included on the 1901 Census working as a Clerk. My Mother thinks he emigrated to Canada but has no more details I can't find him on the 1911 Census so perhaps he'd gone by then? Think he had 2 Sons, Graham & Gilbert, presumably born in Canada. His Father was William and his Mother, Mary Jane. Thanks

1911 census was taken  on 2nd/3rd  April    so  if that  is  him  ,  he should be  on  1911 census

1901 census (albeit that he seems to be flipped to Percy William) gives his occupation as a Junior Clerk in a Telegraph Operator so that could well be him going in May 1911.

could he be as Percy William on the 1911 - may be in Scotland if he departed from there?? - there is a 29 year old William Nicholls indexed in Glasgow there that may be him

This Glasgow one is a telegraphist - with a wife, and a very young son - Graham ....but doesnt explain him being "single" on the passenger list though...

Grahame William Nicholls, born 19 July 1909 at 12 Corunna Street, Glasgow.

Son of William Percy Nicholls, Telegraphist and Alice Marion Nicholls (nee Park) who were married on 25 April 1908 at Anderston, Glasgow.

Marriage Certificate of William and Alice confirms his parents as William Nicholls (deceased), Tobacconist and Mary Jane (nee Cooper). Was Mary Jane a Cooper?  I can't confirm on another census that William was a tobacconist but as Mary was a Manageress in a Cigar Business on the 1911, could this definitely be said to be him?
