Robert A Slater 1856 - 1940

I have had no luck so far in finding 'official' records to confirm some of the dates for my great grandfather Robert A Slater and his children and wonder if someone can verify any of them for me?
Robert A Slater, butcher, b. 16 June 1856 (Lewisham?) died 15 July 1940.
Bertha Withers, his wife, b. 1861 (Romsey Infra Hamps?) died 11 October 1936
Children:(Some of these are very "iffy")
Daisy Amy Slater, b. 1894 Streatham Surrey
Gerald Alfred Slater, b. 6 October 1896, North Cottage Grove Rd. Finchley (my grandfather, dates are all okay as I have copies of his birth and death certificates)
Charles Ernest Slater, b. 30 Aug 1901, Eltham, d. 8 Nov 1985
Cyril Leslie Slater, b. 1904, Eltham
Winifred Slater (no dates at all)

Interesting - Solomon and Alice, despite being both from Romsey and settling there on all censuses after marriage,  actually got married near (presumed) sister , Bertha's.
