Looking for info on a Private John MacLean Queens Own Camerion Highlanders 7th Btt Reg number S/14252    Killed In Action loos France -Died 1915 Sept 25th-
Born 1896: Neilston -enlisted Glasgow. age 19- Resided Barrhead 89 commercial rd; Mother Annie Father Neil Maclean The online Barrhead ww1 war deaths list gives John born in Neilston,Johns Brother William Macfarlane MacLean also fell.
Is John Born Neilston village or Parish of Neilston?
i.e. Barrhead

I have checked the 1891 and they just had Maggie D and Marion at that time so marriage about 1882-1884

Hi Jack
We have not researched the entire family history for the McLean's, Once we discovered this lad was Barrhead not Neilston born we moved on to our next case, I do have the records of the McLean's resident in Neilston and Barrhead during the 1918 census if this is of help to your research?
