COMPLETED: St Columb Major parish burials - GREEN
« on: Sunday 24 November 13 09:12 GMT (UK) »
Hello,

I am looking for two parish burial records:

(1)  Bennett GREEN. Died 14 Feb 1950. He was a methodist but sources tell me he was buried in an unmarked plot in unconsecrated ground at St Columb Major parish church.

and, his wife who died sometime before him. I am NOT certain of her burial place but they were both living at St Columb Road at the time of her death, so expect the same church.

(2) Eva GREEN (nee Hambly). Died 14 Apr 1928.

I'm grateful for any help/look-ups.

Also, is there a cemetery plan available for St Columb Major parish church?

Thanks,
Rick

Hi Rick

According to the St Columb Major Parish Burial Register, Bennett died on Feb 14th 1950 and was buried on Feb 18th. His age at the time of death is shown as 76 and his place of death was St Lawrence's Hospital, Bodmin. There is no mention of him being a Methodist but he was buried in unconsecrated ground (the grave number is 777).

According to the cemetery records, Eva was buried in St Columb Major on April 18th 1928 (grave no. 964) at the age of 51.

Hope this helps
