he was born in 1898 in kirkinner traced him  living in old minnigaf on 1911 census but cannot find him after any help with this would be grateful

After 1911 there are no online census records so you will need to check Scotlands People for marriage/death

If he was born in Kirkinner Wigtownshire - then this is the 1901 entry for him - all b Kirkinner:

Agnes Rennie 56
Frances   27 dtr
Samuel  25 son
Andrew 14 son
James Rennie 2 g/son
Kirkinner ED 3 Page 1 Line 11
 
Have you checked SP for his birth cert to establish who his parent(s) were.  Was he illegitimate?

You will need that info for elimination purposes when checking for any marriage

got all the info you suppied yes he was illegitimate ,checked scotlands people site for death etc but nothing his mother was my gran and my mother was his sister but many thanks for your reply will keep trying

You probably know this, but the spelling Rennie does not become very common until the later 19th century. If you are looking for a Rennie before this, remember to look for other spellings, especially Rannie/ Rainy.
