Can anyone tell me where you find the ' names online' on the new Herts site. I have looked but can't find them, and have emailed but so far no answer.

What is this new Hertfordshire site?
Garrad (Suffolk, Essex, Somerset), Crocker (Somerset), Vanstone (Devon, Jersey), Sims (Wiltshire), Bridger (Kent)

Do you mean the HertsDirect site:
http://www.hertsdirect.org/services/leisculture/heritage1/hals/famhist/

If so, then "Names On Line" link is at the bottom of the page in the purple box where it says: Do it online

The site I bookmarked was http://www.hertsdirect.org/services/leisculture/heritage1/hals/famhist/ but I kept being taken to hertsdirect.org, and the layout is totally different, so I couldn't find the family history records  :-X

It is still there

If you click on 'online indexes and catalogue information'
on the next page scroll down and there is
'Search Hertfordshire names online'

Thanks for the link. The site layout keeps changing - probably contracted out to Brightsolid. But one plus point, the login to renew my library books is now on the home page.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott
