Mills and Dodd from Harrold

Hi,

I have just received a Death Cert for a relative Michael Thomas Mills who died at the Old Vicarage, Harrold in 1930.

His daughter's were Evelyn born 1885, Violet born 1887, Nelly Mills, 1890, Geraldine Mills 1893 and Dorothy Mills 1897.

The thing is the informant on the death certificate is a A.C.W.Dodd of Manor Farm, Harrold who is his son in law.

So I am thinking Dorothy married Dodd i think.

What I need help with is which daughter married Dodd and if they had any other kids... I am struggling to find this out and also what is Dodd's first name.

I can find a Jean S Dodd born in 1926 but not sure which Mills is her mother

I can't find any Mills/A.Dodd marriages

It may be simplest/a case of having to buy Jean's birth cert

In 1911 there were no Dodd names in Harrold, and the Mills were living in Marston Moretaine, with the exception of Nellie who I can't find.

What else do you know about the various daughters?

Just found the death of Violet Mary Dodd in Bedford registration district in 1976, born 13 Feb 1887. Violet Mary Mills' birth was registered in the first quarter 1887. Might this be her? Can't find a suitable marriage though

I have started to look at this again.

there is a mention of The valuer remarked: "House good occupied by Dodd Bailiff"  does anyone know how to find out the name of the Bailiff Dodd?
I am trying to find A.C.W Dodd who was on the death cert of Michael Thomas Mills and he lived in this house...

Ruling one of the girls out...

Geraldine Edmonds Mills born 24 Feb 1893 died in Bullingdon Oxfordshire aged 90 in March 1983.

And a second one........Probate entry says Michael Thomas Mills of the Old Vicarage Harrold,died 5th June 1930,Probate Exeter 12th Feb 1931 to Dorothy Morton Mills spinster.

Effects £105 12s 6d

So Dorothy didn't marry either.Well not up to June 1930

Ah maybe a little bit of a clue, Violet Mary Dodd of the Vicarage Harrold,returned from Canada on the Empress of France in Dec 1921,she has  small children aged 8 and 3 with her.

And an Albert C W Dodd aged 40!!! a clerk.

I wonder if he's Canadian? And they married there..........will look and get back to you.

Maybe they can be found on the 1921 Canadian census.

Violet Dodd 34 b England
Eileen Dodd 7 b Sask.
Marjory Dodd 2 b Sask.

Albert went to Canada in 1905 and Violet in 1913.

This is probbaly him...
