I am trying to find details of Blakemores who moved to the isle of man around the 1890's the father was James Blakemore mother Elizabeth Holmes They had children
Henry/harry 1881
Fred 1882
Elizabeth 1883
James Neville 1883
Athol Grey 1885
Ernest Albion 1888

they ran the music shop in Victoria Street, Douglas

I have census info for them - it's "meat on the bones" i'm interested in!

have any of you come across any of these in your trees or research, Thanks Paul

I come from the other side (Holmes). I have the IOM Death indicies for the following Blakemores:
Elizabeth (Nee: Holmes) (76 yrs) Year: 1926 Douglas. Vol: A. Page: 2124
Elizabeth Agnes (Daughter) (86) Year: 1971. Douglas. Vol: 128. Page: 5718
James (Eliz husband) (78) Year: 1929. Vol: A. Page: 2221.
James Neville (Son)  (80) Year: 1965. Vol: 149. Page: 3883.

I would like to purchase certificates from the Civil Reg, IOM but it is difficult to pay for them from Australia
I am John Holmes (Elizabeth's father) G.G.G.Grandson.

Hi again Paul,
Which census are you talking about? I have a suspicion that Henry & Harry maybe twins? The info I have is that Fred was born & died in 1882, do you know anything about this?

Ernest married Florence  had 2 children Jennifer and an adopted son Joseph Bruce always called Bruce Jennifer had 2 daughters and one of them had 2 daughters all living in the I.O.M. Bruce has 2 children 1 girl and 1son Carol has 1 girl and 3 boys plus a granddaughter living in Adelaide S.A.Bruces son Chris has a daughter Maddison and live in Wodonga Vic dont know much about the others thou Bruce seems to recall visiting Fred and family in London as a child.

Thanks for the information. I am away on vacation at present but would like to contact all via email on my return.
