Annwyl HT,

There is one item I require from the Gloucester Journal .It relates to the death of Mrs Richards
It is dated 21 st December 1918 .
And of course anything regarding the marriage in 1912 from Scotland

Regards
Mike

If you go to the Scotlands people website and put in Jean for start of Christian name and Evan Richards for husband. Then try going through the alphabet for the rest of brides first name and surname, it doesn't take long to get Jean McNair Macmillan.

Nothing much in the newspaper report, only refers to her as Mrs Richards and no mention of where she came from. Names a few attendees at the funeral, none named looked like her relatives just colleagues of her husband.
Berks / Oxon: Eltham, Annetts, Wiltshire (surname not county), Hawkins, Pembroke, Partridge
Dorset / Hants: Derham, Stride, Purkiss, Sibley
Yorkshire: Pottage, Carr, Blackburn, Depledge
Sussex: Goodyer, Christopher, Trevatt
Lanark: Scott (soldier went to Jersey CI)
Jersey: Fowler, Huelin, Scott

Re the marriage, I had simply checked "Scotland's People" - free search (without registering) - and identified a 1912 marriage for an "Evan Richards", which looked a distinct possibility for "your" Evan. To progress, you will need to register (free), and if from your search you think you've hit pay dirt, you will need to buy the certificate.

Looking at outgoing passenger lists there is an entry for Evan Richards a missionary going to Montreal from Glasgow on 17 Sep 1909. He is aged 24 making year of birth about1885. There were 20 other missionaries on the same ship but no Jean MacMillan.
