Trying to trace the whereabouts of Maria Frances Geoghegan in the 1901 census I have looked without success all I know is that she was born in 1878 at the Queen Charlottes Hospital Marylebone Road Middlesex London and she died in Portsmouth in 1918 aged 40 years, I do not know if she got married or not as she had her birth surname when she died (I am awaitng a Death Certificate to arrive).(her mothers name was Elizabeth Geoghegan there is no father she was Base Born).

Marie's mother Elizabeth married Alfred Parkins June Q 1884 in Kensington. Elizabeth is with her husband in 1901 and 1911 with Parkins children, most of which would pobably be Alfred's from a previous marriage. Marie is not with them.
Correction: The children are the right age to be Elizabeth & Alfred's

Her place of birth is noted as France?? however if her mental state was not good she may have been confused.

How did you come up with the Portsmouth Lunatic Asylum because if it is her that would could be another road to go down.Please can you let me know.

I have just received the death certificate for Marie Frances Geoghegan and yes it was her that was in the Portsmouth Lunatic Asylum she died of Pulmonary Tuberculosis, (the death certificate states that she was a Needle Woman) so unless she was put in the Asylum becuse of her illness I do not know, I did get in touch with the Portsmouth Records Office but they cannot access the records that I want until 2018 as that is when they will be availiable as they are closed for 100 years from the year of death.
