There is also a mention of a Thomas Duplex of Anneskenane Westmeath in legal papers 1717 to 1720 in the D'Arcy of Hyde Park Papers in the National Library of Ireland.

Here is a reply I received from a duplex tree owner on ancesstry:

Subject: Sarah Duplex Dupleix

Hi My information as sketchy as it is comes from handwritten notes by Sarah Deborah Dupleix's daughter Charlotte Deborah Finney.
As written:

1st son-John Dupleix Jun born Sept 16 1813 died Oct 1813 buried in St Marys Parish Church Athlone
2nd son-Henry Drummond born Nov 25 1814 Athlone
3rd son-William born 25 Jan 1817 Athlone
1st daughter Elizabeth born Mar 31 1819 Athlone
4th son Richard born oct 4 1821 Athlone
? Anne Dupleix born Mar 14 1824 Ballylamon Kings Co.
Daughter Kathrin Dupleix born Aug 31 1826
5th son Robert Dupleix born Ap 19 1831 in Ballylamon (married Ann Seale - issue Sarah, John, Alicia)
Re-married - issue Richard, William, Charlotte, Harriet, Emily, Robert

So while it is not a definite birthplace it is a starting point as it took me a long time to be convinced of Ann & Sarah being one and the same person. I recently found in the 1901 census Canada stating Sarah Wilkes birthday as March 14 1826 & that was close enough for me to be almost certain that the Anne that my Great Aunt Charlotte has listed is the Sarah in so many Wilkes trees.
Hope that helps.

Good woman Great Aunt Charlotte for writing all that down. With nothing else to go by that would be enough but assuming Sarah and Annie are the same person without a bit more proof is a step too far.

There is talk of the baptism records held in the National Archives or is it the National Library, anyway, of them going online. When or with who no one knows yet but hopefully you'll get your answer than.

If her brother Robert returned to Ireland then I suspect this is the Dupleix family from Belmont in Co. Offaly.  I came across them in my own research, though they are unrelated to me.

A Robert Dupleix was a shopkeeper there from the 1860s.  His name was mis-transcribed as Patrick in the 1901 census.  He married twice - first to Eliza Seale in 1861 but she died in 1871, and secondly to Anne Johnston in 1872.  The 1872 marriage cert lists Robert's father as John Dupleix, a farmer.

The Calendar of Wills at the National Archives has wills for Anna in 1903, and probably Robert in 1907, so that would explain why they're not in the 1911 census.

Do you think this Robert could be your Sarah's brother?

Looking on offaly.rootsireland.ie index....
A Robert Dupleix, son of John and Deborah, was baptised in Ferbane CofI in 1831. Ferbane is near Belmont.
Also baptised in Ferbane were Sarah and Catherine Dupleix, with parents John and Deborah, but with no dates given. It would be worth taking a look at the microfilm of these records to see if the date is legible.
