I found a marriage...Denise Dooley to David Pritchard....1938 in Florida.

I was looking for her death but so far I haven't found one that fits. Last year someone who knew about her contacted me. She was the one who gave me the postcard of Denny Dooley.

"Lily's married name was Pritchard and Grandma's address book has her living at 300 Main St, White Plains, New York - but I don't know what year this is from. I don't know much about Lily, but I remember Grandma saying that she had died quite young. Her nick name was 'Denny'."

She's still around in 1945 according the the directory so maybe not long after that. I'll keep looking.

Thank you very much Sandra for all your help. It's been very exciting finding out all this info  :D

Hello, I am new to this site and hope I am posting correctly. My grandfather is James Dooley sister of Denny Dooley. I recently took a design history class and was inspired to look up who we called Auntie Denny because we were studying Vaudeville and I always heard the stories of her being part of that when I was a child. And this thread came up with tons of information that matched all the stories I heard growing up. I'd love to connect with anyone else who is connected with this family and reconnect some old roots. I'm not even sure if anyone will see this post. Help! :-)

I don't know much more about Lily Denise Dooley aka Denny than what is posted on here. Here is some info on her tree though. She was a distant cousin of my husband....second cousin 1x's removed.

James Dooley (abt 1799 -1859) married Mary Ann Jennette (abt 1814-1884) sometime around 1831.

James and Mary Ann had a least 12 children if not more.

One of their sons Thomas Dooley (1846-1905) married Sarah Jane Peet (1848-1916) on 13 May 1867, Toxteth, St Michael in the Hamlet, Lancashire, England.

Their son Thomas (1869-1926) married Mary Ellen Carmichael (1871-1918) on 25 Dec 1893, Toxteth Park St James, Liverpool, Lancashire, England.

They were the parents of Lily "Denny" Dooley and your grandfather James.

There are a few trees on Ancestry with Dooleys on them including mine.
