Title: parish registers

has anyone any idea how to purchase a copy of an entry in a parish register.i would like to do this .would i have to go to a specific church,or do i need to go to the relevant record office?

Ask at the records office.
They may not have access to the register, but it's a good starting point.

GENUKI often has the location for the parish registers (eg the date range deposited at the record office). If you do a search on "GENUKI + placename" it usually gets the relevant page - if the placename is common try adding the county.

Most older parish registers that survive seem to be at the records office, but a few churches have held on to theirs - sometimes the church has a website that will give details.
