Hi,

The death certificate will show the date; this looks like the registration details needed to order a copy:

John Albert Wymer  MarQ 1970   Norwich   4B  2416          (date of birth given as 18 October 1893.)

Hi,

Certificates can be ordered online from the GRO:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

The cost is £9.25 and usually arrive within 7-9 days, if you are in the UK. They are not available to view on line.

His WW1 information is on ancestry. Father Jacob, married Gertrude Evelyn Hudson he wrote 4 January 1916, but documents say its 12 December 1915 at Flegg. Child Marjorie Gillian born 15 August 1916 according to him.
Joined 1915 number 22616, the 249th Infantry Battalion, transferred in 1919 to the 51st Bedfordshire given a new number 65726. Then de mobbed.

I don't know about the army either, however the paperwork indicates he was given a new number when transferred. By 25 July 1916 he is a L. Cpl., after enlisting he is placed in the training reserve due to a cataract in one eye. After transferring in 1919 he was "acting" Lance Sergeant although he was not to be given additional compensation. The address given for contact after being discharged was 6 St. James Terrace, Caister on Sea Norfolk.
