Meldrum family search
« on: Tuesday 27 July 10 12:52 BST (UK) »
Hi. I am trying to track my grandfather's ancestry. Gordon Alister Robert Meldrum came to Australia as a young 17yr old. He came over to Australia with cousin Max. He had an older brother, Donald, who died at 19 of a supposed shooting accident. Gordon had also a few sisters. His father was Donald Meldrum and his mother was Anne Meldrum (nee Grant). He was born around 1903. He came from Aberdeen.
If anyone could help in any way my email is (*)

Hi and welcome  :)

The only marriage that I can find for a Donald Meldrum and an Ann(e) Grant is in 1884 in Invernessshire. Anne was a Jane Ann Grant.

This coincides with the birth registration of a Gordon Alastair Robert Meldrum on 6 March 1903 at Carrbridge, Duthil, Invernessshire. Parents given as Donald Meldrum and Jane Ann m.s. Grant

Donald was a Gold Mine engine driver.

The family are on the 1901 census in Invernessshire.  If you don't have access to the 1901 census, I can put up the details for you.

Donald's parents were John Meldrum (farmer - deceased by 1886)  and Bessy McDonald

Jane Ann's were Robert Grant, day labourer and Margaret Grant.

If possible and if you don't mind, could you please send me an attachment of his birth registration or email me - (*)
I'd appreciate any kind of material. And if you can't, thank you for your time, just the same.
