Philip Trout - not in 1851 census?
« on: Saturday 24 May 14 18:47 BST (UK) »
Good Afternoon.

I have found the above in the 1861 census, 69, born in Halberton, Devon but living in St Martins, East Looe with his daughter Jane, 30 and visitor Mary Joliffe.

I cannot see him in the 1851 census.....Jane is with her Grandfather Philip (father of Philip)....

Could anyone help in this matter please?

His wife died in 1839.

Phil

thank you

if you’re looking on Ancestry, his age in 1851 is listed as 11 not 61!

do you have 1871? He's boarding with the Wynhall family in East Looe - RG10, 2243, 12, 15. Aged 80, ship agent

Thank you both - once again I have fallen foul of mistranscribed information - I must widen my searches though! He had to be around somewhere....

Thank you again for your help - it is greatly appreciated.
