Hicks family Sparsholt

Would anyone have any info on this family who were living here in 19th century.

Jane Hicks who married William Shepherd from East Hanney were my gt grand parents.

Mary, 40
Henry, 11
Elizabeth, 9
Jane, 6
Robert, 11 months

A few doors away, There's a Richard Hicks, 70, Ag lab with a Mary Hicks also 70. Also next door, a Richard Hicks age 40 and his family.

All born in county

Henry, son, 21, Farm Labourer, b. do.
Robert, son, 10, Farm Labourer, b. do.
Alfred, son, 7, scholar, b. do.

Next door, a Charles Hicks age 26 born Westcote with his wife Roseanna.

Jane, age 17, born Berks "Postcote", is in the service at Iffley Oxfordshire in 1851 (HO107/1727 283 24)

when reserching my flaxen/flexon line i came across this hicks (als flexon ) 1600
married margery child john 1634 i found this on the cumnor website which has a few things on the hicks family cumnor was in berkshire now part of oxfordshire.

kenny from ireland befre moveing to north shields  flaxen/flexon from cumnor then sunderland robinson from rothbury then north shields urqhart somewhere in scotland then sunderland

Hi Tati, many thanks, yes Richard & Mary are my gt gt grandparents, looks like there was quite a big family.

I need any info on this family pre 1837 if anyone out there has it, perhaps decendants of the family, if not will have to go to Berks Record Office and search.

for all your hicks wernt from cumnor it may be worth doing a bit exploring my flaxens mainly were from cumnor but lots were spread around berkshire /oxfordshire and ive traced a few from looking at other towns and villiages.
