Link: Gloucestershire BMD - free to access

Hi,

Gloucestershire BMD is now online - it contains the births, marriages and deaths from the registrars' original indexes and its free to access

I found it via UKBMD. Go to UKBMD - then click Local BMD and then scroll down - past Yorkshire and keep  going until you find Gloucester.

happy hunting

Thanks a million.
I've just discovered 2 births that I didn't know about. I must search carefully and see who else I can find.

Hi

I have been using the BMD for a longtime and it has proved invaluable.

Is it just me, or has some of the details given on the BMD been removed.

Previously it was possible to see the Year as well and the Register and page info..

Without the year, it is very difficult to confirm the right connections.

Anybody else finding this issue?

Yes, I've just checked the birth index and the year is missing from results.  No idea why that is. You can use the 'years to search between' facility in the search form to narrow it down though, which is tedious, but at least you can still get to the correct year that way.
