Hi all, would be very grateful if you could help.   My Great Grandfather, Arthur William Sparham b. 1861 in Hackney married to Eleanor Elizabeth Sparham (his 1st cousin) b 1853 in Breewood, Staffs lived (in between the censuses) on the Isle of Man.   Their daughter, Mona was born 1886 in Oncham.  Is there any way of finding out where they lived and what Arthur's job was please.

The family were living in Essex in 1891 and Arthur is shown as a groom & cab driver.  To find his occupation in the IOM you would need to buy a copy of Mona's birth cert

Heavens - just looked at Mona's marriage cert.   She's got Arthur as dead!!!   Years before the event.   He died in 1933.   I think I know why.  My Great Grandfather fell in love with the maid years before he married her.   Ada Fellingham was the maid and is my Great Grandmother lol.  They had many children before the marriage, whilst Elizabeth was still alive.   Mona may have felt a tad bitter when she decided to list him as deceased.   Merry Xmas one and all
