James Oliver born in Co tyrone

I am not sure if I could be able to locate any information on my wifes Oliver line in Ireland but would appreciate any help I can get.

Apparently from another member of the family the story goes that a James Oliver was born in Killyman, Co tyrone c.1800. I have no idea who his parents or siblings are but Killyman is shown on his Army pension records.

He served in the Hull Citadel until it was closed or there abouts and died in Hull.

Now I do know that research in Irish ancestry is fraught with many pitfalls but could I be able to find him and his family from the records?

There is a record of a James Oliver b.1812, father William registered in Armagh C of I on the rootsireland.ie
