I’m looking for ANY information on John McGeraghty/McGarrity/McGerity – birth, death, marriage. siblings. Griffiths Valuation has a John McGerrity 1867-1880 also, 1881-1881, Glassmullagh North, Parish of Kilskeery, Union of Irvinestown, Electoral District of Trillick, Co. Tyrone.
I have an 1885 civil marriage record for his son, Charles, (c.1863-19310, living in Glassmullagh North, but married in Dromore, Co.Tyrone with father John recorded as living at that time.
I’m hoping fresh experience/eyes might be able to help here.
I assume John was born c.1840 and married c.1860 in County Tyrone. He was Roman Catholic.
The 1841/1851 census extract, has a James McGarrity and Bridget (nee McAleer) with a son John, aged 0. Ann McAleer was a witness at the marriage of Charles McGarrity in 1885. Coincidence or connection???
One possible spouse is Susan McKenna which has cropped up (on ancestry) in a birth registration for a son, John McGarrity, b.1865, Dromore, Co.Tyrone, but I cannot link this to my family.
Another name cropping up is Catherine Donnelly, but once again, can’t link.
Any thoughts would be a super help.
