lookup- Murdocks and Muirs of Muirkirk, Ayrshire?

I have done searches on a few family names and while rootschat is fabulously thorough from what I have seen, I was not able to fill in the blanks-

I am seeking any family information on the marriage of William Murdock to Mary Muir. Their daughter Jane Murdock was born in Ayrshire, specifically at Muirkirk in East Ayrshire.

From our records she was born in Ayrshire on May 5th, 1848, to parents William Murdock and Mary Muir. She was married to a Thomas Craig (who, confusingly, may have changed his name from McGregor) whose birthplace is unknown. Their daughter, Mary Muir Craig (born 1877 in Edinburgh, specifically Newcraighall) married first a man named William Murray and then Alba Amos Davis, who lived in the United States (Montana). One of the children of Mary Muir Davis and Alba Davis is Marguerite May Davis (born 1905), my grandfather’s mother!

As such I would like to know if this is all correct, of course... and if Jane (or possibly Jean) Murdock/Craig's parents are truly Willliam Murdock and Mary Muir. Thank you to anyone who can help me out!

couldn't find a birth/christ for a 'Jane' Murdock with these parents in Muirkirk, but I did find a birth for a Jean

This is absolutely wonderful!!! Thank you so much for your reply! This sheds light on why the "McKay" name appears in our records as well. Jean Murdock in our records is also listed as being born in 1848/49 so that solves that as well. Thank you again for looking this up.

Jean Murdock married a Thomas Craig and there is some confusion over the name of a son of hers. The daughter's name should be Mary Muir Murdock (until her marriage to Davis). Does this information appear in the record as well?
