woo hoo

Margaret married Samuel Cole in 1862

if you want to confirm that you will have to purchase the marriage cert

Marriages Dec 1862  Hereford  6a 933

Cole  Samuel
Poyner  Thomas
Rex  Margaret
Williams  Sarah

however in 1881, 1891 & 1901
she appears as Margaret Cole born Weston Under Penyard 1834/35

1881  RG11;  2593; 97;  36; (with 5 children)
1891 RG12;  2061; 76; 18 (with 3 children)
1901 : RG13; 2482;  14; 20. (with 2 children)

now to find her in 1871

let me know if you want me to transcribe the full detail sof any of the census numbers i gave you

i think i have found young Frances over in Wales in 1881 & 1891
married to Henry Mallet
but i can't find the actual marriage  :-\

this would mean we have Frances in 1841 unm. / 1851 do. / 1881 m. & 1891 do.

1881 RG11; 5269;  87;  1 - with a 16 year old daughter (and another daughter)
1891  RG12; : 4379;  108;  36 - with juts one daughter now

now the fact she has a 16 year old daughetr in 1881 means the marriage may have taken place circa 1864

this would mean she was unm. in 1861 census and married in 1871
but i'm still no closer to findind them or the marriage

working on Ann
she is a bit more difficult
haveing not found her anywhere other than 1841

but in 1891 there is an Ann S Edwards of the right age visiting in Kidderminster unfortunately she is single  :-\

in 1881 Wales census  there is an Ann Bygrave wife of Thomas b. Weston Penyard
but i can not see an obvious marriage
RG11;  5267;  7;  7 - they have children
this one seems more likely at the moment
she is of the right age.

in 1861 there are two ANn Jenkins and Ann Dean aka Draw
both of whom are with their parents so not your ANn

so i'l leave that to you to investigate further

Hi  Toni and also Tweedledum

I too have been researching this family and with some difficulty because of all the variations in spelling
I will PM tweedledum as I have info to share - we share a common ancestor

For anyone following this thread there is a lot of info already out there in various topics on the Herefordshire boards and also Wales boards as members of the family migrated to the Monmouthshire area

For info Ann married a George Davies and then a William Davies (not related to each other!)
Margaret did marry Samuel Cole
Frances married Henry Mallett in Monmouthshire
Honorah married a Thomas Llewellyn also in Monmouthshire

You should check out this site it has a few entries for your family Rix (Rex).

http://www.forest-of-dean.net/

John Rix was buried on 25/05/1841 aged 56 years. At Weston-under-Penyard.

Frances was his wifes first name. She was buried on 28th October 1843, Weston-under-Penyard.

Frances their daughter was baptised at Weston-under-Penyard on 8th July 1832.

do take a look at the site as there are other RIX names listed I believe further children.
